Thomas Sold the Jay J. Armes Mansion

Having not been born in El Paso, Thomas understands the significance of being a part of this. Initially, Thomas met his daughter Debra through her company Desert Outlaws and was buying gifts for his clients as she makes the most delicious gourmet fudge, toffee and toffee popcorn and arranges them in beautiful baskets. She asked Thomas if he also wanted some t-shirts. Thomas, reluctantly, said yes thinking he would be buying some fudge shirts for the kids or something like that. Debra sent pictures of the shirts and immediately Thomas asked “Who is this guy?” Debra said if you have some time, google Jay J. Armes, he’s my Dad. Thomas stayed up for 4 1/2 hours reading stories about Jay and was just blown away that this is a real person.

Thomas knew that selling the property was going to be a challenge so his first mission was to find a partner that could help carry the load. He asked Eric Smith, who was like a mentor in Real Estate and a good friend. Thomas and Eric went to work. This property would definitely not fit into the traditional residential sale of a home. They set up for high quality photos, video, and drone footage. Additionally, there was going to be an estate sale happening so they also set up to get some great candid photography of Jay and Linda in the house and next to the limo and Rolls Royce. Thomas and Eric set up some radio interviews and finalized the initial listing. Understanding who Jay J. Armes is and ensuring some privacy is maintained, they made sure that only potential and serious buyers were allowed access to view the property.

Covid19 did not do any favors to the power team of Eric and Thomas. The commercial real estate world basically shut down. After some initial exposure and some high expectations, it was quiet for a while. The team kept at it and was able to find a couple potential buyers that would jockey for position until one prevailed as the front runner. The property went under contract and then it was a mad dash for the finish line. Thomas went to work on finding Jay and Linda a new home to live in and Eric focused on making sure the mansion stayed on track. The estate sale was scheduled and conducted and seemed like it was a great success. Thomas found a beautiful home that fit their current needs and is closer to family. Thomas and Eric worked all the way up to the finish line to make sure this project came to an acceptable close. The most important thing at the end of the day were the smiles on everyone’s faces. This will not be something that is forgotten any time soon.
