Four Great Little Ideas

It’s never too early to plan for your future - so why not make the decision to sell your Texas home and start a new life somewhere else? And when you do, why not make the transition a little smoother for the next homeowners? We all know how strenuous every move can be, demanding full attention to make sure everything goes smoothly. The journey itself though life-changing is also full of stress and unknowns. So why not give your home’s new owners a little gift, something special, thoughtful, and practical to remember you by? With this in mind, we’ve compiled a list of 4 ideas for a thoughtful gift for the new homeowners of your Texas home. Whether you’re getting ready to sell or want to buy a home in the future, we hope these helpful ideas can help you make the transition a little easier for the next homeowners.

1. A Neighborhood Map/Guide of Things to Do:

Every move leads to the inevitable question of what, where, and how to do anything. Especially when you’re coming from out of town and aren’t familiar with the area. If your home is in a particularly popular area with great places to go and things to do, we highly recommend leaving behind a map or guide of all the nearby hot spots for new homeowners to take advantage of. This includes everything from businesses to parks, attractions, and even restaurants! It could be a photocopy of a printout you made or a local magazine with a highlight on the best nearby spots. Whatever you decide, we hope it helps them have a fun and relaxing time in their new neighborhood. And gives them an idea of what to do when they’re not unpacking their boxes or struggling to figure out how to install their new furniture.

2. Mailing Labels/Stationery:

After a move, there’s no shortage of mail that comes to the house. We usually get so inundated by it that we often don’t have the time to even open it and sort through it. That can lead to piles of mail sitting on our desks or counters - often leading to missed payments, bills being sent back to collections, and other problems. If you don’t have a ton of extra time on your hands but still want to help them out, try leaving behind a small pile of mailing labels or address labels. It’ll give them an easy and organized way to sort through their mail, pay bills, and keep on top of things. If you’re feeling especially creative, you could even include a thank you note with some stationery for them to use.

3. Monogrammed Doormat:

One of the most important parts of the home is the door. A simple, nice, and welcoming door can set the tone for the entire house. A bright and clean entrance to your home is inviting to guests, friends, and loved ones. It can also make a great first impression on your new homeowners. So why not help them out with a cute monogrammed doormat? It’ll make a great welcome addition to their entryway and will help put a smile on their face every time they come and go.

4. Personalized Keyrings:

Okay, so this idea might be more of a novelty than anything. But hey, if you’re really looking to leave your mark and make sure new homeowners remember you every time they leave or come home, a set of personalized keyrings might be a great idea. It doesn’t have to be expensive or fancy; you can find any sort of cheap trinket that can be easily engraved with their initials. Maybe even a picture of you? It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but it will remind them of your home for a long time.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless for something special to leave behind when you sell your Texas home. Purchasing a new home is a huge investment and one of the best ones there is. Do you have any other ideas that we didn’t mention? Share them with us in the comments below!
